The Deckers Group formed in 1989 when Clifford Brierley opened the first restaurant in the group. Over the following two decades the company grew and diversified to include various restaurants, hotels, bars and nightclubs in Greater Manchester including our flagship venue based in Rochdale. We opened Deckers Butchery to supply our own venues allowing us ultimate quality control. Our butchers now supply other retail venues, schools, care homes and hospitals across the North West of England.

Deckers Trading was founded to supply liquor to our own venues. As our venues grew in number and strength so too did our buying power and our connections. We made the decision to create a drinks division of the company and Deckers distribution network was formed. We now buy and sell nationally and internationally with strong relationships with brand owners, producers, agents, distributors and wholesalers.

With a large collection of plates to spin, Max is the driving force behind the many new partnerships, products and investments Deckers have made in recent years.

Well respected industry veteran Andy leads the sales and purchasing teams and is heavily involved in new product development.

Responsible for operations and accounts, Vic is an experienced accountant who joined the family business from Ernst & Young.
Clifford Brierley – President
In 2019 Cliff decided the time was right to play more golf and took the step of making himself company President. This gives him more time at the 19th enjoying the drinks instead of selling them.
Alan Alford – Trading Director
With his wealth of industry experience and contacts, Alan drives sales and also maintains supply chain activities.
Jade Toolan – Sales Director
Jade has gained a huge amount of experience rising through the Deckers’ ranks. Jade looks after some of our largest accounts and leads the sales team across the group.

Paul Roberts – Commercial Manager
Industry expert Paul started out in the front of house. This gave him invaluable industry insight and makes him a valued member of the team.
Dean Shepherd – Operations Manager
Decker’s distribution and stock management expert. Dean manages the operations teams from processing through to delivery.
Robert Walker – Butchery Manager
Rob comes from a chefing background. He has had a varied career at Deckers including head chef, executive chef and leading retail operations. Rob is currently focused on leading the butchery at an exciting time of significant growth.
Rick Stansfield – National E-Commerce Manager
A 14-year apprenticeship in Deckers retail outlets made Rick the ideal person to manage our E-Commerce department.
Deckers took on distribution of our brands in April 2020, the response was amazing. The volume through The Drinks Aisle was fantastic and the service level just as good. They look after everything from packing the goods ready to ship out, shipping and any issues from the end consumer. They treated our Brands like their own. I would have no hesitation recommending Deckers and The Drinks Aisle team.
